Do you use the Shademode?

Hey folks, we call to action again!

Today we have a simple question for you: Do you use the Shademode in skins? May it be Winamp, Xion or whatever.
Let us know and participate in this poll.
Feel also free to give a short statement by posting a comment.

Some ideas have been floating around during the last months. Among those is the ClassicPro::Two approach and also a variant for an extended, full featured shade layout. So we basically want to know in which direction development should go.

Stay tuned for new updates from Skin Consortium!

Sometimes, in cPro skins, or some modern winamp skins. Never in classic winamp skins.

same here, maybe the shade mode is a bit 'aged'.
we all have big monitors, so no need to make stuff smaller...

I am using taskbar preview in win 7 rather than shade mode. Maybe there should be a mini mode implement like that or not? ?( Its like that the shade mode is a bit 'aged'. :S

dunno if a mini mode would be better?
i would distinguish now also between a SUI (cpro-like) and Multi Window Userinterface.
for SUIs a minimode would be nice, but for a normal MUI skin, there would be no need imo.

I use shade mode at times but seem to have taken a liking to small form skins, it may also be worth noting that Ebonite has had 42,834 downloads from Winamp, 18,251 from Skin Consortium and 40,803 from Deviant Art (Wow!).

@Cozmoz I will correct you on your numbers... on Winamp.com the original Ebonite release has 42k.... the new release has over 321k http://www.winamp.com/skin/ebonite-2-0/222012 ;)

Uhm I'm thinking for Shademode in CPro2 it could have all the normal modes, including a task-bar mode, like itunes or WMP? (I could even design it!)

but I use shademodes when I have my designing programs in, like GTA SA map editor (you can have endless fun in that!!!)

@Cozmoz: yes... OK, no. I use global hotkeys. Although I open up the main window just to check the name of the song.

Would there be a way to make a task-bar shademode? I have the design/graphics ready :D

To make a toolbar (like WMP, if that is what you mean) you would need to hard-code it to the skin engine. I don't think Winamp/modern skin engine development team would be just be giving away the source.

Hmm... Well what if we had it bound to the bottom of the user's screen, and give the user the ability to move it left and right - and have the 'always on top' feature on when you turn that shademode on.
